Best brunch in Bristol: Our favourite brunch & breakfast spots across the city

Eat

What’s better than brunch. It’s easily the meal we eat out the most, usually stretched over a slow weekend catch-up with friends and a good coffee (or two). Bristol’s brunch scene is up there. Whether you’re after something classic, a pastry or two, or somewhere with a bit more of a twist, there are so many good options across the city.

Here are some of our favourite brunch spots in Bristol, all tried and tested by us.

Brunch in Bristol: Lunita Pasteleria
Best brunch in Bristol: Lunita Pasteleria

Lunita Pasteleria, Gloucester Rd

A bit of a hidden gem on Gloucester Road, Lunita Pasteleria brings an Argentinian twist to brunch in Bristol. Alongside their beautiful pastries and cakes (which are as good as they look), they serve up proper standout brunch dishes.

Everything feels thoughtfully done, from the flavours to the presentation, and they use local suppliers across the menu. The space itself is small but lovely, with terrazzo tiles and a feminine feel.

Our menu pick: Chori, hashbrowns & huevo

Best brunch in Bristol: Starlings

Starlings, Clifton

One of the best brunch spots in Clifton if you’re after something super tasty. The menu mixes brunch classics with a few more interesting options, from Turkish eggs to their truffled eggs and pork crumpet. Everything is done really well and the ingredients feel high quality. There’s also a small outdoor terrace which is perfect on a sunny day.

Our menu pick: Open Steak Sando

Best brunch in Bristol: Flour House

Flour House, Multiple locations

Flour House is one of those places that’s always busy, which says it all. Their Park Row café is on the smaller side, so you might have to wait for a table, but it’s worth it.

They’ve recently opened a bigger North Street location too which we’re yet to try!

Expect colourful interiors and a menu full of proper comfort brunch dishes, from pancake stacks to their brioche mega baps.

Our menu pick: Halloumi brioche mega bap

The Crafty Egg, Multiple locations

A firm favourite with Bristol locals, The Crafty Egg has built a bit of a reputation for its brunch. The original Stokes Croft spot is known for queues out the door, while the Fishponds location is bigger with more space to sit and a slightly expanded menu. It’s a go-to for a laid-back, tasty brunch in Bristol.

Our menu pick: Chilli stack

The Metropolitan, Clifton

Right on Whiteladies Road, The Metropolitan offers something a little different when it comes to brunch in Bristol. The menu is full of flavourful dishes, with ingredients like kimchi and masala running through it, so it’s a good option if you want something beyond the usual brunch plates. There’s also a really nice garden out the back for warmer days.

Our menu pick: Ox Cheek Hash

Mercy, Clifton

In a great spot on Boyce’s Avenue, Mercy is an ideal if you want to pair brunch with a wander around Clifton. Inside, it’s light, colourful and well-designed, and on sunny days you can sit outside and soak up the buzz of the street.

Our menu pick: Wild mushroom flatbread

Bristol Loaf, Multiple locations

Now with multiple locations across the city, Bristol Loaf is always a solid option for brunch. Each site has slightly different dishes, which keeps things interesting if you visit often. If you’re not super hungry, their counter is also worth it alone for pastries and coffee.

Bright interiors, lots of plants, and always a good atmosphere.

Our menu pick: Chilaquiles at Bristol Loaf Beacon

Prime by Pasture, City Centre

From the team behind Pasture, Prime by Pasture brings their focus on quality meat into a more casual brunch setting. It’s a good option if you’re after delicious brunch dishes in the city centre.
