Sauna & ice bath in Bristol: the best spots for our fave wellness activity
Saunas and ice baths have definitely become popular lately, and we are enjoying trying out all the new spots. Alternating between hot and cold is one of those things that always makes you feel so much better after, whether you’re going in for recovery or just a bit of a reset. It’s the perfect wellness activity in Bristol, especially when we’ve had a busy week of workouts, runs or just want to switch off for a bit.
There are so many new sauna and ice bath spots in Bristol, with a variety of vibes. Some out in the countryside, others are based on farms, and some are more community-led spaces in the city. Each one feels a bit different, so you can pick depending on the mood.
Here are our tried-and-tested favourite sauna and ice baths in Bristol…
Fire & Ice Wellness, Westbury-on-Trym
Set within Westbury Wildlife Park, Fire & Ice feels really peaceful from the moment you arrive. You can hear birds tweeting and it’s surrounded by blossom trees, which makes it feel a really removed from the city.
The plunge pool is a standout here as it used to be an abandoned seal pool, now an organic plunge pool that makes you feel at one with nature!
What to expect:
2 saunas
2 ice baths
1 plunge pool
Indoor changing areas
WildPlunge, Farrington Gurney
Tucked away behind Farrington Farm Shop, WildPlunge is such a lovely set-up. It’s surrounded by farmland, and you’ll sometimes even see cows while you’re in the sauna.
The space itself is really well done with fairy lights, paving stones and a fire to sit around afterwards. They offer herbal tea at the end to sit by the fire, which is a lovely touch!
It’s also worth combining with a trip to the farm shop after, they have lots of great food bits to buy, and we heard they do a great roast too!
What to expect:
4 ice baths (with the coldest around 2 degrees)
2 saunas at different temperatures
Outdoor changing cubicles
Unfold Sauna Club, Backwell
Set on Five Acre Farm, this one is all about slowing down. It’s a really peaceful countryside setting and feels like a reset from the moment you get there.
The founders are clearly passionate about creating a space where people can relax and connect, and it shows in the overall feel of the place. After your session, you can wander around the farm and pick up fresh or dried flowers, all grown on-site.
What to expect:
1 sauna
2 ice baths
Outdoor changing cubicles
Bristol Community Sauna, Brislington
Located at St Anne’s House, this is a more community-focused sauna setup and a great option if you’re looking for something a bit more affordable.
It’s part of the Community Sauna Network, which supports and helps set up community saunas across the UK. You can also become a member if you’re planning to go regularly.
What to expect:
2 saunas
3 ice baths (2 at 10 degrees and 1 at 5 degrees)
Indoor changing area
Orchard Sauna, Bedminster
Tucked away within Windmill City Farm, Orchard Sauna feels surprisingly private for somewhere so central. It is a lovely set-up with multiple plunge options at different temperatures.
It’s a great option if you’re looking for a sauna in Bristol without heading too far out of the city. We hired one of the saunas with a group of friends which worked really well if you want a more social session.
What to expect:

Multiple plunge options at different temperatures
